Why can’t I trim videos on iPhone?
Looks like no one’s replied in a while. To start the conversation again, simply ask a new question. Hi everyone. I use the ‘Trim Video’ loads in the editing section of videos. But the ‘Trim video’ option is no longer appearing. I only have the ‘save as new clip’ option now. Why is this?? HELP! iPhone 8, 64GB on iOS 11.1 I have no idea why this has happened (see photo) Posted on Nov 8, 2017 1:26 PM 6 replies Nov 8, 2017 1:39 PM in response to Billy_5722 Since you’re presented with the “Save as New Clip” option, it appears you’re starting with a video that is not editable. You must first duplicate the original un-editable video and then you can edit the duplicate. So since you’re seeing “Save as New Clip”, it appears you’ve already done some editing. Nov 8, 2017 2:06 PM in response to sberman But I haven’t edited them. For example to test your idea I just took a 5 second video. I went to the video in my camera roll. I went to edit so I could Trim a second or two off it to see if what you said would work. But again it won’t let me edit the video (which was 30 seconds old and never edited ever) See photo below. I have no idea why it still won’t let me Trim a video and the option is still missing Nov 8, 2017 2:13 PM in response to Billy_5722 What I mean is. I take a 10 second video. I quickly go to edit it. I only want 5 seconds so I want to Trim the original rather than create a Save as new video’ why is the ‘Trim video’ option missing. This has only happened in the last day or so. Nov 8, 2017 2:19 PM in response to Billy_5722 I just tried the operation you’re describing. I have an iPhone 7, iOS 11.1. I do not use iCloud Photo Library, but I do use Photo Stream. The video appears in my Camera Roll and I am able to edit and trim it, just as you desire. So I can’t imagine what’s going on. Perhaps you should try resetting your iPhone. Or perhaps you’re filling up your iPhone’s storage (check Settings > General > iPhone Storage and be certain you have at least 6½ – 7 GB remaining). Why is the ‘Trim Video’ option not appearing?
