- If Activation Lock is enabled, then you will not be able to use the Apple Watch.
- I suggest that you hand it in to the police, locally to where you found it.
- Activation Lock prevents unauthorised use of Apple Watch if it is lost or stolen.
- To be able to pair the Apple Watch to your own iPhone, you would need the previous owner to either enter their Apple ID and password on your iPhone or to turn the feature off via,
You will not otherwise be able to use the watch. There is no way around this security feature.
- Apple will not advise you of the previous owner’s contact details, nor will Apple pass your details on to them.

Can you jailbreak an Apple Watch?
Can You Jailbreak the Apple Watch? As Apple Watch gains popularity among smartwatch enthusiasts, the question of whether one can “jailbreak” it has been raised. In simple terms, jailbreaking refers to the process of removing restrictions imposed by the manufacturer on a device’s operating system to allow it to run software and use features not approved by the manufacturer.
- Apple adamantly discourages jailbreaking its devices, claiming it not only violates its license agreement but also exposes it to security threats.
- Therefore, the company has implemented several security measures to prevent users from jailbreaking their Apple Watches.
- At present, there are no publicly known jailbreaking methods for Apple Watch.
Firstly, it runs on WatchOS, which is a closed operating system not based on MacOS or iOS. This makes it difficult for hackers to develop a jailbreaking tool, as they would require a different skill set and knowledge of the WatchOS system. Additionally, Apple’s security features, such as the Secure Enclave, a hardware component that provides extra security for user data, make it even harder to hack the device.
Although there have been some unverified claims of jailbroken Apple Watches, experts warn that such claims are dubious and could lead to malware attacks or even physical harm to the Watch. For instance, jailbreaking an Apple Watch can disable important security features, rendering the device vulnerable to hackers and malicious software.
Additionally, jailbreaking may cause damage to the Watch’s hardware or software, leading to warranty invalidation or expensive repair costs. While jailbreaking may offer some benefits, such as customizability, it is important to note the potential risks that come with it.
Therefore, it is always advisable to stick with Apple’s guidelines and use the Watch as intended. Apple Watch is an innovative and remarkable device with many features, and as Apple continues to refine its software, users can expect to see more features added to the Watch in the future. In conclusion, at present, there is no way to jailbreak Apple Watch.
Even if such methods exist, they pose serious risks that could permanently damage the device. Therefore, it is best to enjoy the smartwatch’s capabilities while staying within the limits of Apple’s license agreement. The Apple Watch is a reliable and secure device, and as long as users follow its guidelines, they can expect to have a positive and enjoyable experience.

Can you unpair a stolen Apple Watch?
Sell, give away, or protect a lost Apple Watch Before you sell or give away your Apple Watch, be sure to unpair it from your iPhone. This erases its contents, including payment cards, and removes Activation Lock (which prevents someone else from activating it). If you lose your Apple Watch, you can put it in lost mode.
- Open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone.
- Tap My Watch, then tap All Watches.
- Tap next to your watch, then tap Unpair Apple Watch.
Your Apple Watch is erased and removed from your iCloud account, and Activation Lock is removed. For more information, see the Apple Support article,
- Open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone.
- Tap My Watch, then tap All Watches.
- Tap next to your watch, then tap Find My Apple Watch.
- In the Find My app on your iPhone, tap your watch to see its location on a map.
If the map tells you your Apple Watch is at your location, tap Play Sound. When you mark your Apple Watch as lost, your watch is locked with a passcode so that others can’t access your personal information, and the ability to pay with Apple Pay using credit or debit cards in Wallet is suspended.
- Open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone.
- Tap My Watch, then tap All Watches.
- Tap next to your watch, then tap Find My Apple Watch.
- In the Find My app on your iPhone, tap Activate under Mark As Lost, then tap Continue.
- Enter a phone number if you want the person who finds your Apple Watch to contact you.
- Tap Next, then enter a message that will be shown on your Apple Watch when someone finds it.
- Tap Enable to mark Apple Watch as lost.
When you find your Apple Watch, either enter your passcode on the watch or, on your iPhone, open Find My, tap Devices, tap your Apple Watch, tap Activated, then tap Turn Off Mark As Lost. Before you erase your device, try to locate it or play a sound on it. After you erase it, you can’t use Find My to do either.
- Open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone.
- Tap My Watch, then tap All Watches.
- Tap next to your watch, then tap Find My Apple Watch.
- In the Find My app on your iPhone, tap your watch, then tap Erase This Device.
If your Apple Watch is lost or stolen, you can sign in to using your Apple ID and remove your cards.
- In the Devices area, choose the device.
- Click “Remove all cards” under Apple Pay.
You can also call the issuers of your cards. For more information, see the Apple Support article,

Why is my Apple Watch still paired after I unpaired it?
my apple watch is not paired and its working Looks like no one’s replied in a while. To start the conversation again, simply Posted on Jan 30, 2017 2:54 PM
- Hi
- There is a difference between your watch being “unpaired” vs it becoming temporarily “disconnected”.
- Disconnections
Once they have been paired, your watch and iPhone remain paired until they are manually unpaired. However, they can become disconnected or connected (multiple times) whilst remaining paired. Disconnections can be normal, such as when the watch loses the Bluetooth connection with the paired iPhone and no known Wi-Fi network is available to your watch.
- Check that both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are enabled on your iPhone:
- It may help to toggle Bluetooth off and on again on your iPhone (Settings > Bluetooth).
- For the best performance from your watch, keep both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi permanently enabled on your iPhone.
- Check that Airplane Mode is not enabled on your watch:
- When viewing the time on your watch, swipe up on the watch face to open Control Centre.
- If your watch is not connected and Airplane Mode is turned on, tap the button to turn it off.
- It may otherwise help to toggle Airplane Mode on and off again.
- Restart both devices, turning both off together, then restarting your iPhone first.
- If they still do not reconnect, unpair and re-pair your watch (choose to Restore from Backup when re-pairing):
- More information:
- Unpaired
- If your Apple Watch is instead unpaired according to the Watch app on your iPhone, but still paired according to your watch, then you will need to erase all content and settings directly on your watch in order to re-pair it to your iPhone.
- On your watch, go to: Home screen (via a single press on the Digital Crown) > Settings (cog icon) > General > Reset > Erase all Content and Settings.
- Then re-pair it to your iPhone via the standard process (choosing to Restore from Backup, if offered the option):
